Protests erupt outside Kasba Police station as 3 arrested in alleged Kolkata college gang rape
In a peculiar turn of weather events across various parts of the state, including metropolitan Kolkata, Bengal is experiencing a blend of dense fog and a lingering cold spell. The entire region is enveloped in thick fog from dusk till sunrise, contributing to a chilly atmosphere. Simultaneously, a marginal increase in temperature has been observed. On Sunday, the minimum temperature recorded was 19.4 degrees Celsius, marking a one-degree rise above the normal average.
The maximum temperature also reached 28.8 degrees Celsius. Notably, this slight temperature rise follows Friday's weather conditions when the maximum temperature hovered around 28 degrees Celsius and the minimum temperature stood at approximately 18 degrees Celsius. Across locations such as Howrah, Hooghly, North and South 24 Parganas, East and West Medinipur, Purulia, and Bankura, minor temperature fluctuations are noted.
However, the cold persists throughout the state. In North Bengal's Alipurduar, Cooch Behar, Jalpaiguri, Darjeeling, and Kalimpong, temperatures are already below normal, intensifying the sense of cold.
